The courses were addressed to experts and engineers working in modern advanced problems in the design aspects of mechanical engineering, in the industrial management, in the computer and in the environmental fields. The courses were of interest also to researchers in these fields. The announcements of the courses were sent to universities, centres of research, industries and small and medium enterprises. For admission to the courses, a university degree in Engineering, Physics, Sciences or Computer Science was required. Selection of the participants was done on the basis of curricula and letters of presentation. Some experience of the specific topic treated in the course was generally required. These courses brought together experts, researchers and engineers for an exchange of experience and knowledge, contributing to developing interaction and common activities in these fields both in Europe and in India.
