So, there
has been obviously interest by high-way societies to deal with this problem,
they have done some tests close to Padua on the highway between Venice and
Milan and in this case there was a small fire but we got all the properties,
I mean all the temperature measurements with which we could do some calculation.
In this case the combustion thermal power was 5 MW which corresponds to passenger car burning, while for instance in the Mount Blanc the fire almost reached 100 MW. And in the experiment they measured the maximum air-temperatures, as you see here, the fire was in the middle in section A than the temperatures have been measured in the section A at 20 meters and at 50 meters. What is also important, during the fire, and immediately after there was a smoke stratum which went from 3,17 meters on, which has been taken into account in our calculation. | ![]() |
