Here we see the cross-section below Venice.
You have Venice, then the lagoon, left and right of Venice, then on the
right hand side an island called Lido, and then the Adriatic Sea, where
on the left hand side is the industrial part of Venice, which is Marghera
and Mestre, and it is where the main pumping took place.
You see below we have six aquifers, numbered from 1 to 6, and then there
is one aquifer numbered A, which is not exploited for, because the water
is partly salty. Now, for modelling purposes we have along together the
5 and the 6 aquifer.
