At the end of the course in Hyderabad we had finally discussions about the philosophy of integrated management, about the sustainable development of the water supply in the Patancheru area. Before the conclusions and recommendations worked out by the research-team , we presented for the participants a list - you can see here - a list of questions, so that they are forced
Before the conclusions and recommendations worked out by the research-team were presented, the participants were asked to express their opinion on the very dramatic pollution situation in the Patancheru area and to formulate facts which can accelerate the remediable process.
We also asked them about their opinion; Is resignation, the idea of giving up the area, prevailing in the mind of some influential decision-makers? - was one of these many questions we asked, and the comments of the participants on these questions were as follows: The hydro-chemical data-system must be organised. So can not an answer should be given, if the contamination is local or widespread. Further a ranking of the hydro-chemical data, a historical review of data-base is necessary. The search for sources of contamination must be accelerated and last not least, due to the complexity of the problematic it is recommended to widen the scope of the experts involved, to carry out a multi-disciplinary research including the biological impact as well as the epidemic investigation results.
