This spread of alluvium is mostly confined to the eastern part of Nakkavagu, where it is about 680 meters, whereas the western part is limited to about 100 to 200 meters.
So, most of the groundwater contamination is reported along the eastern part of the Nakkavagu. Here you see, between Palumavagu and Peddavagu, lots of alluvial deposits, while the rest of the area is covered by granites, which are indicated as red marks.
