The groundwater contamination mainly constitutes the TDS concentration, which is also reported to be higher in Chlorites and Sulfates. Palumavagu, Peddavagu and Nakkavagu streams while carrying effluents contribute as diffuse source of contamination all along their course, up to the confluence of Manjira river. The presence of alluvium aided more infiltration of contaminants in the groundwater region.
