The water table in the granitic area varies from 5 to 11 meters below ground level. Earlier days lift irrigation structure were installed on Nakkavagu. During the monsoon season they used to pump the water for irrigating their fields. Because of the effluent flow in the Nakkavagu the structures were found spoiled.
