The width of alluvium in the downstream area ranges from 400 to 600 meters. The thickness decreases from a downstream area to the upstream area of Nakkavagu. Thick sand zones are visible in several dug wells in Pocharam village. And also lots of sand mining is being practised around this village. Lineaments are found to be potentials zones for groundwater flow.
