Recent alluvium is deposited there by stream action along the flood plain of Nakkavagu. Alluvium contains sand, gravel with small amount of silt and clay. The thickness of alluvium varies from 5 to 10 meters and is covered with 1/2 meters thick soil. About 8 to 10 meters thick alluvium along the paleo course along 3rd and 4th stream indicates extensive fluvial action.
