Retro-reflected screens are defined by these properties. They directly return what is coming in unlike the diffuse screens, which reflect the light in all directions, or specular screens, which reflect the light in a certain fix direction, unlike those two, they just return it along the direction it came from. These are just a couple of technologies that are used to design those reflecting screens.
