The second phase is called mapping. In this case, we have to decide how we intend to associate data in our dataset with visual symbols, with visual marks, how we transform our dataset into a visualization, into visual form. And we will see in a moment some possible examples of how we can do this. And then, when we have decided how to draw, how to display something, we have to face an additional problem, called the presentation problem.
