There is another instance of DACPES (Database Computer Architecture Performance Evaluation System).
In this case, the database machine environment is simulated and its performance evaluation is carried out. The parallel databases machines using shared memory architectures and object oriented database is considered and concurrency control is also considered. Inter-connection requirements using bus, mesh and cube architectures are also considered.
This environment is able to generate both hardware and software environment could be simulated. It is very interesting to know that in case of interconnect mechanism, the bus architecture was most efficient and no cube architecture was required. Obviously, when complex queries were involved, bus architecture was not efficient.
Another experiment that was done very recently is that it gave negative results, discoursing further simulation work for performance evaluation.
