The scheme that has been implemented is using cross-checkpoint time and roll forward mechanism. This method is showing lot of promise though lot of overhead is involved. The duplex processor system has two processor and the third one is spare. If there is a disagreement at checkpoint, the third processor comes into picture. There is matching performed and the faulty processor is identified and the information on the faulty processor is loaded onto the spare processor. The faulty processor is then replaced.
